The Grande are a six piece band from Liverpool with their sound firmly immersed in Americana & Alt. Country whilst never forgetting their UK roots.
After the break-up of their previous band, lead vocalist Ben & drummer Phil Stevens set about puting together a band that would allow them to fully embrace the music that had influenced them so heavily since youth, with traces of Neil Young, The Band, James Taylor & Bob Dylan weaving thier way into The Grande's enduring melodies.
After months spent working tirelessly on Ben's new material their first port of call was to bring bassist Paul Davenport into the band followed soon after by lead guitarist Joel Lynch in late 2008
Early 2009 saw Melissa Parker join the band, instantly adding dusty, blues drenched vocals that shimmer throughout and provide the standout harmonies that are sure to set The Grande apart.
After three months spent together honing their sound the band were finally ready to take their music on the road and after a debut gig at The Picket, Liverpool in May they set out on an extensive set of dates throughout the rest of 2009.
In late 2009 multi instrumentalist Scott Poley joined the band and instantly provided the material with the authentic Americana sound it fully deserved.
Whilst maintaining a busy live schedule The Grande spent the majority of 2010 in the studio recording the material that will form their debut album.
The band were focused by one principle whilst recording, the album would be recorded in a live state to capture the energy and raw emotions of the songs in thier purest form whilst paying a small homage to their closest inspirations.
The final tracks for the album were recorded in summer 2010 at Sandhills Studios, engineered by Al Groves and Mixed by Scott Poley. Final mixes for the album were mastered by renowned engineer Kevin Metcalfe (U2, Queen, The Who) at The Soundmasters, London.
The debut record from The Grande is due out early 2011. It's been a long time coming for the band but we hope you enjoy it when it arrives.................
